The countdown to full release is now on as Windows 7 reaches the hands of IT pros, hardware manufacturers, and software developers.
October 22, the day when Windows 7 gets its full release, is growing ever closer.
One big step toward that arrived on Thursday, when the OS was released to IT professionals, software developers, and hardware manufacturers. The English version was made available via the TechNet program, with versions in other languages arriving October 1.
Volume licensing businesses which have Software Assurance subscriptions will be the next to get Windows 7, then gold or certified members of Microsoft's Partner Program, who will have access from August 16.
August 23 will let in action pack subscribers, followed by volume licensing customers without Software Assurance on September 1.
After that comes the full public release in October.
